Following Weekend Conference, More Than 155 Sent Out to Conquer Porn

More than 155 men met in Colorado Springs this past weekend to attend the inaugural Conquer Leadership Conference. They were gathering for training on how to help men find lasting freedom from pornography and sexual sin. Determined to make a difference in their churches and communities, some of the men drove across the US. One man drove from Alberta, Canada to take part in the Conquer Leadership Conference. Others flew in, some even travelling from Mexico and Australia to participate in this three day event. The event sold out several weeks before the conference with organizers rushing to add more seats to accommodate the demand. The conference featured Dr. Doug Weiss, world renowned author and psychologist in the area of sex addiction and intimacy anorexia. It was organized by Conquer Series film director, Jeremy Wiles and his team at KingdomWorks Studios. The Conquer Series is a powerful, cinematic small group study that is helping over 1 million men find lasting freedom from pornography.

The Beginning of a Movement

Initially released in 2014, the Conquer Series continues to be used by thousands of churches in more than 80 countries to help set men free and bring healing to their families. For many of the men attending the conference, the fight was personal. They had either struggled with pornography or knew someone who had. “I was overwhelmed by the number of attendees who told me how the Conquer Series had changed their life,” explained Wiles, who with his wife invested their savings and two years in creating the men’s curriculum. The conference was not only a time of training and equipping – but also a time to encourage these bold men. “These guys are standing in the gap for men and their families but often it is a thankless job,” explains Wiles. He continued,

“These men are not the guys that the church celebrates on a Sunday morning. They often have to plead with their pastors. Even when they are given permission to run a course like this at church, it’s usually relegated to the room in the far back corner of the church in the basement. But they are warriors bringing healing to families and we think that’s worth celebrating.”

Sending Out

Each attendee has headed back to their churches encouraged and empowered to make a difference. As one leader described,
