Sanctity of Human Life Sunday: A Call to Raise Our Voices for the Unborn

Churches around the nation are gearing up to commemorate Sanctity of Human Life Sunday on January 22, a day dedicated to honoring the value of human life. This year, they are being encouraged to show a powerful short film about the Jewish Holocaust called "Sing A Little Louder."

The Origins of Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday was established in 1984 by President Ronald Reagan on the 11th Anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court case that legalized abortion in all 50 states. The day serves as a reminder of the sanctity of human life and the need to protect it.

Sing A Little Louder: A Powerful Reminder of the Modern-Day Holocaust

In 2017, thousands of churches around the world began showing "Sing A Little Louder," a cinematic short film set in Germany during the Jewish Holocaust. The film is inspired by the true story of an elderly man who, in his youth, witnessed the horrors of the Holocaust from the pews of his church. He retold his story to demonstrate that abortion is our modern-day Holocaust, with far greater casualties.

A Call to Action

The 11-minute film delivers a poignant message for the twenty-first century and the current genocide that is taking place with unborn children. It was shot on location in Holland and is being used to raise awareness for the pro-life movement. Director Jeremy Wiles spoke about the impact that the film has already created, stating, "Churches all across the nation have been showing the film during their Sunday services, and it's because the film has a timely and important message. The church just can't continue to sing louder."

With Sanctity of Human Life Sunday following the inauguration of President Donald Trump on January 20, the film is a timely reminder that the church cannot sit idly by and wait for the government to take action on abortion. We must raise our voices for those who have no voice, and stand up for the sanctity of human life.

Download and Share

Churches and groups are invited to download "Sing A Little Louder" for free at KingdomWorks.com and show the film on January 22. The free download includes discussion questions and suggestions on how your church can be a voice for unborn children and how you can support those facing unexpected pregnancies.

As we honor the sanctity of human life, let us remember the words of Jesus: "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." (Matthew 25:40)
